Equity, Cultural and Linguistic Competency Programs

There is a widespread need to address low levels of student engagement in classrooms, particularly among racially, economically, and culturally diverse students. In this environment, it is essential for teachers to connect with their students and build a cultural frame of reference that will foster the learning, engagement, and success of every child. PCG supports education leaders in delivering purposeful teacher effectiveness programs that will improve outcomes for all students. Our programs are available in differing levels of intensity and depth to align with the varying needs and timeframes available for professional development at different school sites. The online courses in this Program area provide educators with critical knowledge to enrich their cultural understanding, address equity, and support them in becoming culturally and linguistically responsive educators.

Intensive Equity Program - Duration: 15 Months

This intensive course of study was developed for districts and schools committed to bringing top-ranked faculty to their educators and staff to implement change at scale and with fidelity. School sites can opt for their staff to take either 4 or 5 courses over a 12 to 15-month period culminating in an Equity Educator Certificate from the University of Southern California (USC) Rossier School of Education.

USC Equity Educator Certificate Program

USC and PCG have created a comprehensive, competency-based certificate program for K-12 educators. This program will help districts and schools develop teachers and school leaders who have the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to create equitable achievement opportunities for all students.
